Privacy Policy
- We collect what we need to run your account, take payment and keep accounts from being shared.
- We do not sell your information and we do not run ads.
- Auction houses never see your max bids or what you are watching.
- You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete it, by email.
Who this covers
This policy explains what Data Whisperer LLC, doing business as Buy Low Sell High Club, collects when you visit buylowsellhigh.club or use the service, and what we do with it.
What we collect
- What you give us. Your email address, a display name if you set one, your settings (such as your tax rate and profit target), photos and barcodes you submit for a lookup, feedback, support messages, and any reports you choose to file about what you bought or sold.
- Payment details. Payments are handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your card details. We receive a record that you paid, your plan, and the last four digits and brand of the card. We never receive or store your full card number.
- How you use the service. Pages and lots you view, auctions you unlock, lookups you run, and when.
- Device and connection. Your IP address, the general location it maps to (city level), your browser and device type, and an ID we store in a cookie on your device.
- If you join a waiting list. Your email and the metro area you asked for.
Why we collect it
- To run your account and give you what your plan includes.
- To take payment, handle refunds and prevent fraud.
- To enforce one person per account. We look at the number of devices and locations on an account to spot sharing.
- To stop scraping and abuse.
- To make prices and ratings more accurate, including by learning from feedback and from bought and sold reports.
- To answer you when you write to us, and to send service emails such as receipts, renewal notices and changes to these policies.
We only send marketing email if you asked for it, and every one has an unsubscribe link.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies that the service needs: one to keep you signed in and one device ID used to protect accounts. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not let ad networks track you on our site.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with companies that help us run the service, and only what each one needs:
- Stripe, for payments.
- Our hosting and database providers, which store and serve the service.
- AI and data providers that identify items and return sold prices. They receive the photo, barcode or item description for a lookup. They do not receive your name or email.
- Our email provider, to deliver messages to you.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our members or the public from fraud or harm. If the business is sold or merged, your information may move to the new owner under the same promises.
Auction houses and sellers. We do not give auction houses, sellers or other members your max bids, your watch list or what you looked at.
What is public
Nothing about you is public unless you choose it. If you agree to share a win, we show only the display name and metro you approved, the item, and the numbers. You can withdraw a shared item at any time and we take it down.
We may publish totals that cannot be tied to any person, such as how many lots were priced in a month.
How long we keep it
- Account details: while your account is open, and up to 90 days after you close it.
- Payment records: as long as tax and accounting rules require, usually 7 years.
- Device and usage logs: up to 13 months.
- Lookup photos: up to 90 days, unless you save the lookup to your account.
Pricing data with nothing that identifies you may be kept longer to improve the service.
Your choices
Email support@buylowsellhigh.club from the address on your account to:
- Get a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Correct it.
- Delete your account and personal information. We keep only what the law requires, such as payment records.
- Stop marketing email.
We answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live, state law may give you these and other rights. We honor these requests for every member, wherever they live, and we will not treat you differently for making one.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to the database is limited and members can read only their own records. No system is perfect. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.
Children
The Club is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has made an account, email us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will email members or post a notice on the site before the change takes effect.
