Threat Pulse 62High
ConnectWise Cloud Backup credentials abused to enter hundreds of Microsoft 365 tenants
Severity 7MitigatedconfirmedCloud and SaaSGovernment

From about 01:58 UTC on October 15, the identity of ConnectWise Cloud Backup (formerly SkyKick) and related ConnectWise apps signed into customer tenants from attacker infrastructure, assigned itself directory roles and in at least one tenant granted Global Administrator and planted secrets on other apps. Huntress confirmed 162 affected tenants within a day and later saw over 300 successful sign-ins. Customers should disable the apps until ConnectWise confirms credential resets.

What to do: ConnectWise suspended Cloud Backup; app disablement advised; attribution to Storm-0940 followed October 21.
